Decker Trucking
In 1931, Loren Decker and his brother Dale started their own trucking company with the help of a single Model B Ford Truck. Although Loren at the time was only 17, he had already several years of driving experience because there was no required truck driver’s license at that time. Their tucking company mainly offered to transport canned goods, plumbing fixtures, gypsum products, and windmills between Iowa and its neighboring states.
In 1976 Loren retired and sold his interests in the company to Dale and his two sons, Don and Duane Decker. Building upon nearly 45 years of experience, customer loyalty, quality service, and personnel, this new management team expanded the company’s operations, both in territory and range of commodities transported. In the 10 years that followed, the company’s revenues increase exponentially and its operations became a nationwide system of transporting all types of commodities.
In 1993, Don Decker acquired sole ownership of the company. His management team at the time consisted primarily of persons who have grown with the company, many of whom started out as drivers and are now using their combined experience in operations to sustain the company’s highest standard of service which has gained the loyalty of many of its customers. With over 81 years of experience, Decker Truck Line Inc. is now offering a number of career opportunities available for individuals who wish to join the company.
