Indiana Truck Driving License

One must possess the necessary qualifications that are required by the state and federal governments in order to acquire an Indiana truck driving license.  A significant amount of driving experience as well as of physical fitness is needed in order to get this type of license.  You may also be required to undergo a criminal background check before you can be supplied with a CDL.  Generally, the applicant must be able to handle a commercial vehicle well and have a sufficient knowledge about the vehicle’s parts in order to pass the licensing examinations.

walmart-semi-truckThe applicant will first have to apply for a CDL or learner’s permit before being issued one.  To do this, you have to bring a valid driver’s license, social security card or number, proof of residency, valid IDs, as well as the corresponding fees for the permit.  You will then have to take a written exam which will cover the basic skills and knowledge that is required for driving a CMV.  To prepare for the test, you will have to study the Indiana CDL Manual which discusses the important points that one has to know about commercial driving.
